OPPORTUNITY
Richards Bay Coal Terminal (RBCT) is seeking motivated and talented individuals to join our Millwright Apprenticeship Program for 2026. This is an exceptional opportunity to launch your career in the coal export industry while developing critical technical skills in a world-class facility.
As a Millwright Apprentice, you will contribute to RBCT’s performance goals by ensuring that plant equipment in your responsibility area is safe, reliable, available, and operates according to required design specifications. You will work alongside experienced professionals while managing and leading initiatives that enhance cost-effective continuous improvement in performance.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Commit to and successfully complete the 4-year apprenticeship program as required by the Company and SETA (Sector Education and Training Authority)
- Ensure continuous optimization of plant processes, equipment, and systems through proactive maintenance and problem-solving
- Adhere to all health, safety, and environmental policies and legislation at all times
- Develop machine-specific technical competence and expertise across various plant equipment
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Educational Requirements
Candidates must possess ONE of the following:
- Matric (Grade 12) with Mathematics, Physical Science, and English OR
- Matric (Grade 12) with Technical Mathematics, Technical Science, and English OR
- National Certificate Vocational (NCV) NQF Level 4 OR
- N3 Certificate
Required Skills
- Strong learning orientation with the demonstrated ability to apply acquired knowledge in practical settings
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in team environments
- Physically fit and physically strong with excellent hand-eye coordination
- Comfortable working at heights (no fear of heights required)
