Glencore Engineering Artisan Learnership Programme

Glencore has opened applications for the Engineering Artisan Learnership Programme 2026 at its Eastern Chrome Mines operations in South Africa. This programme is designed to train young people who want to build careers in engineering trades within the mining industry.

The learnership combines theoretical training and practical workplace experience, allowing learners to work toward obtaining a recognized Occupational Trade Certificate through the Mining Qualifications Authority (MQA).

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must meet one of the following qualifications:

Option 1

  • Grade 12 with English, Mathematics, and Physical Science

Option 2

  • Technical Grade 12

Option 3

  • Grade 10 with Full N2 qualification including four engineering subjects

Option 4

  • NCV Level 3 with Mathematics and relevant technical subjects

Selection Criteria

Applicants may be required to:

  • Pass psychometric or aptitude tests
  • Attend an interview
  • Be medically fit for underground mining work
