About the Opportunity

The Sanlam Actuarial Bursary supports both current actuarial science students and school leavers who plan to study actuarial science full time. The bursary is based in Bellville, Western Cape, and is open to South African citizens who meet the academic requirements.

The programme is designed to build actuarial skills while preparing candidates for long-term careers within Sanlam.

Who Should Apply

Current Actuarial Science Students

  • Registered full time in 1st, 2nd, or 3rd year of actuarial science
  • Strong academic performance

School Leavers (Matriculants)

  • Planning to study Actuarial Science from 2027
  • Excellent academic results, especially in Mathematics
  • Strong overall academic performance

Eligibility and Application Requirements

For Undergraduate Students

  • Academic transcripts and proof of registration or fee statement
  • Certified copy of South African ID
  • Matric certificate
  • Updated CV highlighting academic achievements and leadership
  • Motivation explaining career goals and suitability for the bursary

For School Leavers

  • Grade 11 final results and Grade 12 mid-year results
  • National Benchmark Test (NBT) results, if available
  • Mathematics mark of 90% or higher and an overall A aggregate
  • Certified copy of South African ID
  • Comprehensive CV and motivation
