About the Role: What You Will Learn and Do
As a Cash Processor, you will be trained to perform a variety of critical tasks with precision and integrity. Your core responsibilities will include:
- Cash Receiving & Verification: Receive and log cash deposits, meticulously checking containers and bags for damage or tampering before processing, and immediately reporting any irregularities.
- High-Speed Note Sorting: Operate advanced note-counting machines to sort and process notes efficiently. You will manage rejected notes, record detailed information for camera surveillance, and ensure all deposits are balanced and reported accurately.
- Detailed Reconciliation: Perform end-of-day balancing and reconciliation for all cash received. This includes manually checking rejected notes for counterfeits or damage and managing any shortages or surpluses strictly according to procedure.
- Specialised Processing: Gain experience in diverse areas such as processing bulk coin deposits (sachet and coin processing), handling desktop deposits, managing payroll and change transactions for business clients, and assisting with the packing of bank and ATM cash in our prepack and treasury section.
- Systems & Compliance: Work with integrated banking systems to validate transactions, verify deposit account numbers to prevent errors, and ensure all actions comply with our strict Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and client service level agreements (SLAs).
Who We Are Looking For
This role is ideal for a young individual who is eager to learn, pays close attention to detail, and is ready to take on responsibility in a structured environment.
Minimum Requirements:
- Education: Grade 12 / Matric certificate with Mathematics Literacy.
- Experience: Six months of cashier or teller experience will be advantageous, but it is not a requirement. We provide full training.
- Competencies:
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Basic numerical and reconciliation skills.
- Integrity and the ability to handle confidential information.
- A proactive attitude and willingness to learn.
