The Unemployment Insurance Fund (UIF), in partnership with the Department of Employment and Labour, is offering learnership opportunities through the Labour Activation Programme (LAP). This programme aims to help unemployed South Africans gain practical skills, workplace experience, and improve their chances of employment.
The learnership provides structured training and real workplace exposure while learners receive a monthly stipend during the programme.

Minimum Requirements
To qualify for the learnership, applicants must:
- Be a South African citizen
- Be between 18 and 28 years old
- Be currently unemployed
- Not be enrolled in another learnership or internship
- Be a previous UIF contributor
- Have Grade 10, Grade 11, or Grade 12
- Be available full-time for 12 months
- Have access to a smartphone for communication and online learning
- Persons living with disabilities are encouraged to apply

- Certified copy of South African ID
- Certified copy of highest qualification
- Updated CV
- Proof of residence
- SARS letter
- Medical certificate (only if applying as a person with disability)
Certified documents should generally not be older than 2 months.
